These figures were part of a batch of new blister packs released in late 1986 and early 1987, a few months before Citadel lost the licence. It's surely no coincidence that they hit the market at the same time as the 'F2 Paladins' range, also designed by Goodwin & Naismith. This tactic was used with other blisters, including ADD32 Dwarf Villagers (Trish Morrison's D6 Dwarf Villagers), ADD71 Evil Fighters (CH2 Chaos Warriors, the ADD71 figures even have 'Chaos Warrior' marked on the slotta-tab) and ADD21a Barbarians (F3 Barbarians).
Unsurprisingly, many AD&D fans felt somewhat cheated by these releases, and it was no surprise that the writing was on the wall for the ADD range!
The pack of 3 Lawful Fighters featured a trio of armoured knights, ready to go forth and combat evil. No variants were produced in this code.
Pose 1. This figure wears full plate armour, with a chainmail coif and a small crown. He has a large chalice tied to his belt, and he holds a large two-handed sword with the point by his right foot.
Pose 2. This Paladin wears full plate armour with a chainmail skirt, and a long, flowing cloak. He is bare-headed, carrying his ornately decorated helmet in his left hand, while holding a delicate-looking shortsword in his right.
Pose 3. This character wears a full suit of plate armour, ornately decorated with ribbed patterns. He wears the visor down on his great helm, which is adorned with an imposing crucifix emblem on the top. He holds a longsword aloft in his left hand and his right hand has a stud for a plastic shield.
